Our Process

How We Bring Dream Decks to Life

Please note: Currently, we do not offer repair or maintenance services on existing decks, unless the deck was originally built by us. Our focus is on new deck, screened porch and patio construction only. Also, at this time, we do not install pressure treated pine decking. We only install premium composite, vinyl decking, or exotic hardwoods such as Ipe or Mahogany.

As a design/build firm, we begin each project with a structurally-sound design and build upon it with high-quality materials to ensure that each customer is investing in an outdoor living space that exceeds their expectations.  We take great pride in our work and stand behind every deck we build with our 5-year labor warranty.

Complete Our Web Form

We’re excited to hear from you! Once you fill out the web form here you will be contacted by email to schedule an initial phone call. Prior to that call, we may ask you to send over some photos of your project area and any additional information about your project. This way, we can better understand your needs and tailor our discussion accordingly.

Initial Phone Call

Upon our initial phone call, we will discuss the basics of your project and what you hope to achieve with your outdoor living space. We will discuss existing conditions, your project ideas, needs and wants as well as your budget concerns for the project.

Design Phase and/or Site Visit

If your project requires design, the next step is for us to enter into a design agreement with you. This will be determined upon our initial phone call and based on the overall size and scope of the project. Design fees will vary based on the size, scope and complexity of the project. Most designs will be anywhere from $400 to $1,000. Larger and more complex projects could be above and beyond that. The design fee will be credited to the final cost of the project. This will be discussed on our phone call. Once we have an executed design agreement and payment, we will schedule a site visit to obtain all of the information we need to design your outdoor living space.

Site Visit Only

If your project is fairly simple and does not require preliminary design, a site visit will still be necessary to assess your project and get all of the information needed to provide a fixed price for your deck. There is a fee of $75 for this site visit, but that fee is credited to the project once we move forward and sign a contract for the project.

Design

Now that we have all of the pertinent information to design and price your project, we will get to work coming up with the perfect space that fits your needs, budget and your existing home. The design work will take a few weeks to complete, but we’ll keep you updated along the way. Once we are close to being complete with the design, we will schedule a time to meet at our office/showroom to review the final design and pricing.

Design Review

At our showroom, we will review the design and proposal with you in great detail. The design will consist of full color 3-D renderings as well as dimensioned plan views and any other relevant visuals to fully convey the look and feel of the completed project. We’ll cover different pricing options as well as specific material choices. You’ll get an up-close look at all of the materials for your project in our showroom and start getting a feel for what the completed space will look like. We will review the proposal/contract in its entirety. Everything will be explained in detail, so you have a full understanding of the scope of work included. If any design revisions are necessary, we will make those within a few days.

Contract signing

Once we have the final design in place, we will sign a contract for the project, get you on our schedule and start work on the final construction drawings.

Permit Process

Once the final construction drawings are completed, we will take care of applying for the building permit for your project. We may need some signatures and/or other documents from you prior to the permit application being submitted. You will also be provided with a full, printed set of the construction drawings if you wish. Regardless, we will send you a PDF copy of the plans for your review.

Pre-Construction Meeting

A few weeks prior to the start of your project, the Lead Carpenter in charge of your project, will meet with you on-site, to go over scheduling, parking, material staging as well as other aspects of the project. This way, everyone is on the same page once we get started.

Start of project

We will keep you updated regarding the start of your project. Once we start, our crew will be on-site until your project is completed. Along the way, you will see your new space come to life a little more each day. If you have questions along the way, our crew will answer them for you and address any concerns immediately.
